Studentiko is an online roommate and rental finding site dedicated to help like-minded people who have or need a place to stay, to find each other. It is not a real estate agency nor it works with commission. As a student I oftened faced first-hand the need to change accommodation or find a new roommate during my time in the UK and Greece. Similarly, friends from other towns often ask me to recommend a place in Limassol or Nottingham to stay. Along this lines studentiko was born. Our aim is to offer a decent and value for money service without difficulties. After all, the very first thing people do today is to find what they want by searching online with google, smartphones, etc.

- “Is it free to register?”
Yes, registering as a user is absolutely free; you can post a listing that will be advertised for free, view all adverts matching your criteria, and you can be contacted by, or contact, other members.
- “My city-country is not listed”
Not a problem. That just means none has posted with this specific city-country. Once you post it, we will add the given city/country on the search window.
- “Make a listing”
Complete the form as necessary. Upload quality photos. You may add or remove an image at any time via “my profile”. There are some basic rules when uploading photos to the website:1. Make sure they are of good quality, a minimum file size of 50KB at 72dpi is recommended for clear viewing and fast upload speed.2. Maximum image size 2 MB per photo.3. JPEG, GIF, PNG or BMP format.4. Contents should show yourself, group members (if registered as a group) or the room/property you are advertising.Moderation guidelines: we will reject any photos containing contact details, nudity or partial nudity (e.g. wearing bathing suit), illegal activity, third-party advertising and children.
- “Google Map Pins”
There are three ways to find your location and pin it on the Listings map.a) Add full address details, including country x2 times, zip code, state, city and press “place pin on map”.b) To find out Latitude and Longitude go to Google Maps, find your location, right click on the location on the map and click “What’s here”. Coordinates will show in the search bar on top.c) Drag the map on your own, zoom in and out and click on the spot of your property.
We offer the ability to upload a video of your property with either YouTube or Vimeo. To do this, copy the Video ID (ex. 17882714 or tJpnCVXtDS0) from a Vimeo or YouTube video link and it will show in the full width slider.
- “Featured image”
A listing image of your choice is featured and well positioned on our website.
- “Forgot my password”
Just use the button “forgot username or password” and we will send your information to your email.
- “How long till my post shows?”
Immediately. We have to review the post of course.
- “Can I upload photo to my profile?”
Yes you can. We recommend it. The profile photo must be 120×120. You may add or remove an image at any time via “my profile”. There are some basic rules when uploading photos to the website:1. - “I have found an error/problem”
Unfortunately, software problems are inevitable due to human error. If you find a bug, a grammar/syntax error please send us an email via the “contact us” form located at the top of the site.
- “I found objectionable material”
If you encounter or become aware of any objectionable or infringing or unlawful content posted anywhere on the Site, please immediately report such material (and the specific page on which it is found) to us via “contact us” form.
- “Does it cost money?”
You can basically use studentiko for free.
- “How long is my profile active for?”
As long as you want. But when you find a roommate or a place to stay please email us so that we can delete your account.
- “Delete my account”
Send us an email. Also do tell us the reason why, and any comments you have so that we can improve the site and your experience.
- “Membership packages”
It helps promote your listing and therefore, increase its renting chances. Email us for any customized package you want.
- “Cancel/Refund a package”
Because we provide you with the opportunity to list and preview all content on the Site at no cost and only require payment when you wish to improve your advertise chances we do not offer refunds of purchased membership.
- “Payment options”
We use PayPal as our payment gateway as such we do not store any sensitive data on our website.You do not need to create a PayPal account, you can simply make a one off payment with your credit card without logging into the service.
